Having created an event poster for the upcoming Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hours race, I decided to have a go at another one. It was announced recently that the SRO Motorsport Group, the organisation that runs series such as the Blancpain GT Sprint and Endurance series, British GT, The Total 24 hours of Spa and the Baku World Challenge will be on-board to help promote the fledgling Malaysia Merdeka Sepang 12 Hour race for GT and Touring cars.
And if they need a poster to help promote it, I have just the design right here!
The design is based on the Malay Batik style of art, which is a method of wax-resistant dying, drawing outlines on cloth with wax before dying the exposed areas with bright colour. Bright green foliage is accompanied by pink flowers with petals forming the shape of the Sepang International Circuit on which the race is run. 2 of the most successful Asian GT teams’ cars run through the design, the Craft Bamboo Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and the Clearwater Racing Ferrari 458 Italia GT3, the latter being the team what won the 2014 edition of the race.
